Hot Rods to Fernside

Sunday, 19 October 2025 saw Fernside School host one of North Canterbury’s biggest family days out with the inaugural Hot Rods to Fernside School Fair!

The event was a spectacular success, bringing the community together with over 250 hot rods, classics, muscle cars, and custom builds. Attendees were treated to dazzling chrome and roaring engines, alongside a huge market and boot sale, and plenty of rockabilly fun! Highlights included the popular Kids’ Entertainment Zone, live music, helicopter rides and a wide variety of delicious food vendors.

More than just a car show, the fair showcased incredible community spirit and achieved its goal of raising vital funds to support Fernside School. Thanks to the generosity of our amazing sponsors, the hard work of countless volunteers, and the support of all the families who attended, the day truly proved that horsepower and heart make a fantastic combination.

Mark your calendars now — we look forward to seeing you all again for another spectacular show in 2027!!
